Receiving Gifts from Commercial Companies Part 1: The Need for General Institutional Guidelines
R. Van Harrison, PhD

A b s t r a c t

This article explains the need for developing general institutional guidelines for all gifts from commercial companies. CME administrators have a responsibility to inform their institutions of new national norms regarding commercial gifts and to assist their institutions in developing consistent policies and procedures to deal with commercial gifts for all of the institution's activities.
